Arceus reigns as the god of all Pokemon and creator of the Pokemon universe. With his creative power and the ability to use all kinds of Pokémon, Arceus is one of the most powerful Pokémon in existence. Its unimaginable power of it matches the expectations of a non-legendary Pokémon god.
However, the immense power still has drawbacks that even the god of all Pokémon experiences. The Pokemon world isn’t always kind to its creatures, whether legendary or not. The status of a Pokémon god brings unique challenges and responsibilities that differ from regular Pokémon. The price of real power is higher than it seems.

1. There’s always an evil team that wants divine power
The downside of being a kind of Legendary Pokemon is that there are evil organizations with matching outfits that use Pokémon for selfish purposes. A Pokémon god-like Arceus is the favorite target of these organizations. Even if a god Pokémon seems unstoppable, evil Pokémon teams are dedicated enough to be boring.
Bad Pokemon teams sometimes come close to succeeding, as seen when Team Galactic summons Dialga and Palkia to Mount Coronet. With the existence of items like Red String that allow humans to control legendary Pokémon, even divine Pokémon are not safe from greedy humans.
2. Even the god of all Pokemon can be killed
Arceus’s existence predates the universe itself, making him seemingly immortal. However, a god Pokémon like Arceus can still die. In the Pokémon Movie: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, Arceus nearly died after protecting the world from meteors. Despite its power, the god of all Pokémon must protect itself like any ordinary Pokémon.
A divine Pokemon can’t expect its unique stance to protect it from death. The creator of the Pokemon world still has limits to what he can accomplish on his own. Survival is never a perfect guarantee.
Note: Fox pokemon in the series, ranked from worst to best
3. It’s impossible to appear around humans without attracting attention
A Pokémon god puts on a fantastic show with the power it wields. Unfortunately, the powerful Pokémon immediately catch the eye of anyone who sees them. It’s hard for the god of all Pokémon to appear around humans without causing a ruckus, which gets boring. Since a Pokémon god is unique, people unaware of its identity would recognize its rarity.
Pokémon like Arceus have the ability to travel between dimensions, but a solitary journey would lead them to a lonely existence. The god of all Pokémon can’t always enjoy the company of other life forms that regular Pokémon do.
4. September Pokémon God Must Settle Legendary Pokemon Feuds
The God of All Pokémon is one of the only Pokémon with the power to stop any fight between reality-distorting Pokémon like Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. Although these three Pokémon reside in separate dimensions, the rare occasions that their paths cross lead to disaster. The Pokémon god should intervene because conflicts of this magnitude endanger the universe.
The mere presence of Arceus in Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life causes the Creation Trio to contact each other and fight over territory. A Pokémon god is responsible for resolving the violence that his appearance provokes, whether he likes it or not.
5. Trainers Can catch the God Of All Pokemon
According to the logic of Pokemon games, Arceus is catchable by a Poké Ball despite being a god. The god of all Pokémon may have power over creation itself, but a single Pokémon Trainer with a Master Ball can end his freedom. Poké Balls threaten Pokémon gods in the same way as regular Pokemon.
If the god of all Pokémon ends up captured, he has no choice but to do what his trainer wants. In the worst case, a God Pokémon could be trapped inside a Poké Ball for a long time. All his power would be insufficient to save himself from this fate.
6. Creation is a difficult task
Arceus is responsible for creating the world and at least several Legendary Pokémon. However, creating something new is quite a challenge for a Pokémon god. A god Pokémon requires a lot of creativity to create life, as each life form has unique characteristics. Spending a lot of time and energy shaping the world is part of life for a Pokémon like Arceus.
Life is unpredictable, and you cannot guarantee that anything a Pokémon god creates will act a certain way. The god of all Pokemon can bring the universe to life, but he doesn’t have full control over the will of the Pokemon.
7. A Pokemon God Can’t Always Trust Other Lifeforms
A Pokémon god also faces humans or Pokémon that take advantage of his trust and betray him. In Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, Arceus gifts Michina City with some of his life plates to bring prosperity to the region. When Arceus returns for the Life Plates, he is betrayed by one of the village leaders.
The god of all Pokemon has to be careful who to trust or help with their powers. Not all humans or Pokémon return acts of kindness when it counts. Having immense power means that other life forms try to benefit from it.
8. The universe is an excellent place for anyone to explore
Arceus is the creator of multiple worlds and can travel between them, but the universe is challenging to explore fully. A Pokémon god has enough to see and do that. The task is overwhelming. A Pokémon of this power level has enough options to choose from to make life extremely complex.
The Pokemon Only world contains multiple regions and countless Pokemon for Pokemon like Arceus to watch. The god of all Pokémon faces many years of wandering the universe and all it has to offer. There is a considerable amount of time for a Pokémon god to fill it.
9. Losing life plates means death
Arceus carries with him 16 life plates that symbolize most Pokémon types. Since the plates give Arceus his life force, losing all of them means death. Arceus also loses plates when he spends energy, which makes Arceus near death in Pokemon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life. Any major battle threatens the life and strength of the god of all Pokémon.
The importance of the plate makes it one of the biggest weaknesses of the Pokémon god. Keeping track of all 16 plates is a problem the god of all Pokemon has to deal with. Even the god of all Pokémon has limits.
10. All Pokemon Gods Attacks Can Cause Accidental Damage
The god of all Pokemon has enough power to hit large areas with his attacks. Whenever a Pokemon of this level fights, he has a high chance of damaging the environment. A God Pokémon must be aware of where it is aiming attacks to avoid causing unwanted damage. Using strong Pokémon moves can harm innocent people or Pokémon within range.
A Pokémon god must understand its powers’ extent and how their use affects those around it. A miscalculation can have deadly consequences that impact the world itself.
